Fire Door Remediation
Sentinel Projects brings existing fire doors back up to standard across Northampton, Cambridge, Oxford, London and the rest of the UK. Where a door can be repaired, we repair it. Where it needs replacing, we tell you plainly. We are FireQual-qualified and BlueSky-certified.
Fix what can be fixed
When a fire door fails an inspection, replacing every door is rarely the right answer, or the cheapest one. Many failures come down to worn seals, drifted gaps, faulty closers or poor previous installation, and those we can put right.
The FDIS audit that found 76% of doors failing also found that most failures were faults of installation and maintenance, not the doors themselves. A large share of a failed inspection can often be resolved through remediation rather than wholesale replacement.
We will always tell you which doors can be saved and which cannot. That honesty is the point. You should not be sold four new doorsets when three of them need a seal and a closer.
What we remediate
- Gaps brought back within tolerance
- Intumescent and smoke seals replaced
- Self-closing devices repaired or replaced
- Hinges and ironmongery upgraded to fire-rated
- Glazing and beading corrected
- Signage brought up to requirement
- Poor previous installation put right
Where a door is beyond economic repair, we say so and quote a certified replacement instead.
Repair or replace
The decision comes down to condition, cost and the rating the door needs to hold. Our survey gives you the honest position on each door:
